to explain why he predicted a romney landslide, and a lot of other conservatives are trying to blame in all on romney. it reminds me of what we democrats winter after 1972. the late and beloved note george mcgovern no longer with us was blamed for the landslide a 72. we lost 80, 84, in '88 and th're still blaming the candid it's. it was not the candid, and it was not the way he communicated. it was the message. it was -- it took bill clinton to redo the map and barack obamacare continued that legacy. the reason why the hispanic vote went for broke, is because bit romney made him look liberal on immigration policy. did not follow george bush's policies and innovation, or you might have been president. it is about content, not the communication. lou: is not one to answer my question on the racial divide. i will try with you. >> well, i think the numbers speak for themselves. the fact that the electorate this time, the change in the percentages among white voters. if the romney campaign got al, the percentages they tught they needed to we might be talking about a different result . much

especially if we don't get a romney victory, again, romney, we believe at least a general consensus will be good for equities at least in the short run. liz: let me get away from the traders. i know you are so busy. we are too. let's get to the election and we will talk about that in a minute. as you see jared brilliantly segued for us there. should you be making last minute changes to your portfolio? are you buying and selling? hold off for a second. thesis fund management ceo and portfolio manager joining me for the last hour of trading. you get sort of an extra punch of legitimacy because you run a long short fund so you love certain things, you hate certain things. but are you doing anything with your fund in advance of the election? >> no, liz, we're not trying to handicap the outcome of the election. what we do is focus on securities that are misvalued, but long and short. we use the short book to manage risk against uncertainty, political uncertainty, economic uncertainty, etc. liz: so you are saying stand down, calm down, don't do anything until after and then what? what do you look

traders tell you what happens if there's an obama win or a romney win. >> here it is in short. if we're going to get a mandate, it probably comes from are a romney win. it'll have a mandate and a little bit more executive authority to take on the challenges specifically regarding the fiscal cliff. president obama, fortunately, has a little bit of a record, and thus his relationship with the house of representatives is scarred a little bit, and that'll be difficult regarding the fiscal cliff. so in short, if romney wins, i think it's dollar positive, equity market positive, bond prices probably repriced to slightly higher yields. the option holds true with a president obama win. i think the focus and tension that will come about, we'll probably see stocks come under pressure. liz: under pressure, but then what? do you think there will be a blowing through of the bottle neck that's been there for a while when there is that clarity, and if so, who's best poised to really participate in that rally? which sectors do you think might do well? >> well, i think on a romney win i think you'

of mitt romney that is good for your business but bad for the economy in general to tax some people. romney had a good line you don't just pick winners and losers but you pick the losers. john: they could the random selection people look at politician as the person to solve every problem? president obama was the magic president. these people were waiting three hours. he is magic. >> they've really feel he has the intrinsic quality now they he has been reelected to change people's lives like he has only been warming up. for what? it is terrifying. john: people felt this way about romney. >> but obama is a classic example of the colt of the presidency the idea that any politician can fix all the problems is not start with the obama we should get rid of racis he should stop the rise of and y house. i saw a teenager said he should give everybody a house. kids say that is understandable. but adults are supposed to understand there are incentives, a trade offs and a cost. there are unintended consequences government cannot magically eradicate homelessness and poverty. john: but i am told

tell you, is chris christie the governor who was supporting mitt romney or not? , a little confused. >> well, remember that he is running for reelection in 2013 in new jersey, which has not voted for republican for president in over 20 years. so it's good politics for him, and, frankly, so far he is very pleased with of the federal government has been responding to his requests for aid and assistance. 62 percent of new jersey, i lived in new jery, is without power. that is a lot of angry potential voters if he does not get something done. so i think he is putting policy and his own politics temporarily ahead of mitt romney's. gerri: fascinating to watch, and i could not help but think maybe romney will have some kind of response down the line to governor christie. to you. you said that politicking never really ended. the conventional restaurant is that all politics ceased during the storm. you said, no. >> it didn't really. you had romney having events collecting, donated goods for those hurricane victims. that is politicking. he is showing a fall faced effort to help victims in the

goes directly against that. one of the few issues the president still has a good handle on. romney has a handle on the economy, the handle on government spending. neil: what should romney do with this? i always thought romney botched it in the debates were sort of like a gift that should have been for him that he screwed up, but what does he do? >> he got little shy when he got hit so hard on september 12 from the press reacting too soon. this will be a lot up to this is where the specia interest groups or the outside groups, third-party groups come into play in making this a big issue making sure people know about it but also something you hear a lot of people talking to each other about and that is what undecided voters are going to affect them. the personal relationship they haveith people. when something comes to attack on american soil at an american embassy and american people, that is a concern. that is the concern for every american. nobody wants this edition to be attacked. there was a possibility we could do something about it. neil: thank you very much. for those of you
